Woman charged in stabbing death of man at Clifford Park

A Boston woman has been charged with murder for the stabbing death of a 48-year-old man in Clifford Playground near South Bay on Monday.

Mary Fox, 38, is alleged to have stabbed Michael Dezrick to death in the playground off Massachusetts Avenue early Monday morning. Prosecutors say Fox returned to confront the victim following a dispute between the two parties earlier that night.

Fox was ordered to be held without bail by Judge David Weingarten following a hearing in a Roxbury court. DA Rachael Rollins' office said that Fox had other open cases, for which her bail had been revoked, including for carrying a dangerous weapon and receiving a stolen car.

“My office will hold those who commit violence and steal lives accountable for their actions,’’ said Rollins.

Fox is due back in court on September 1.
