Two murders in two days along Norfolk Street corridor

A man was shot to death last night near Norfolk and Woolson streets in Mattapan and Boston Police arrested an armed suspect at the scene after what BPD described as a tense standoff with the gunman. The victim, who has not yet been named by police, was declared dead at the scene.

Police arrested Rafael Santiago, 35, of Malden, who they say had "a revolver in his hand" when they arrived on the scene.
Santiago will be charged with murder in Dorchester District Court.

The deadly shooting came less than a day after another deadly shooting along the Dorchester side of Norfolk Street, in which a 45-year-old man was killed. Rashawn Washington-Clark, was found on the night of July 2 suffering from an apparent gunshot wound in the area of Armandine Street and Milton Street.

Also last night, in Roxbury, a 15-year-old boy was killed in a shooting outside 39 Mt. Pleasant Ave. shortly before 10 p.m. Two other people suffered non-fatal injuries in the same incident, according to Universal Hub.
