The Zoning Board of Appeal on Tuesday approved plans to re-open Venice Pizza at Savin Hill and Dorchester avenues.

Venice Pizza closed in early 2019 after some 40 years in business. Jason Weissman, who owns the building, wants to bring back a neighborhood-friendly eatery, his lawyer, Thomas Miller, told the board at a hearing.

"We're making almost no changes," except to upgrade the kitchen and make the restaurant handicap accessible, Miller said.

Miller did not specify a date for when the revised pizza place will open.
