JFK Library employees end self-quarantine with no symptoms

In a press release issued this afternoon, the JFK Library and Museum announced that two Library employees who were potentially exposed to coronavirus have no symptoms of the illness after completing a 14-day self-quarantine period that ended today.

The Library initially closed on March 11 after learning that those two employees had attended a conference the previous week where other attendees were confirmed to have come down with the virus.

The Library has been working with public health officials to ensure all proper health measures are taken and as an extra precaution, will complete a deep cleaning of its facilities already underway.

The Museum will continue to be closed to visitors until further notice. All forums and other public and private events held at the Library will not occur; some events may be rescheduled to a later date if possible. School visits and other education programs scheduled during the closure will be cancelled.

The building will continue to be staffed by security officers and maintenance workers during the closure. Library artifacts and exhibits will be safe and maintained.

The Library is coordinating its response with state and local health officials and the National Archives. The Library will update any changes on its website along with its social media channels.
