Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester to begin virtual online programming

This week's schedule of classes, which will be streamed on BGCD's Facebook page and Youtube channel.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester announced today that they are making the organization's programming available online through BGCD's Facebook page and Youtube channel.

BGCD is currently closed in accordance with recommendations from the Center for Disease Control & Prevention and city and state government to help slow the spread of COVID-19. But the organization is making sure it continues to serve the community in a virtual format.

“Although our members can’t physically be in our building, it is important that we continue to support youth and families across the city,” said President and CEO Bob Scannell in a press release. “These programs offer more than just education, they will provide our members with a way to connect with staff, teachers and each other they are used to seeing every day.”

Four programs and classes will be made available each day in time blocks scheduled throughout the morning and afternoon. The interactive classes will include sports, baking, science, art, dance, music, games, and more, and will be led by club staff and program directors. No membership is needed to access the classes.
