New details, photos emerge in fatal Morton Street hit-and-run

A newly-released still taken from traffic camera footage shows the vehicle in question.

The Suffolk County District Attorney’s office released new photos and videos today related to the fatal hit-and-run that killed 40-year-old Pierre Desir last month on Morton Street. DA Dan Conley is asking members of the public and owners of local auto body shops for help in identifying the car and its driver.

Based on photo and video evidence, investigators believe the car in question is a dark-colored older model Chrysler 300 that may have a damaged front bumper, headlight, and/or windshield. Authorities are asking any auto body shops that may have worked on such a vehicle since the incident on May 26 to contact them.

“It’s possible that this vehicle may have been brought in for repair work during the past week or so,” Conley said. “It may be in a garage or parking lot. Whatever the circumstances, the public’s observations may be our best chance to locate the vehicle, and we ask anyone with information to come forward.”

A video taken by a camera near the Gallivan/Morton St. intersection shows the suspect’s vehicle travelling towards Morton Street, while another shows the car moments earlier at the intersection of Gallivan and Dorchester Avenue.

Anyone with information on the crash, vehicle, or driver is asked to contact the Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit at 617-727-8817.
