No bail for man charged in fatal Theatre District shooting

A 29 year-old Mattapan man who allegedly shot into a group of people after an early-morning fight in the Theatre District has been charged with murder. Kiewann Watson was ordered to be held without bail during his arraignment today in Boston Municipal Court.

Prosecutors say Watson shot and killed Michael Miranda, 28, just after 2:15 a.m. on Sunday after a brawl between two groups ended on Tremont Street. Another man was wounded in the shooting incident— in which Watson allegedly fired multiple rounds into a group of people leaving the scene.

Prosecutors say that Watson was "identified through video footage from cameras in the area" and "forensic evidence from the area." Boston Police arrested him on Thursday. He is due back in court on Sept. 27.
