Man suffers life-threatening injuries in car crash on Morrissey Boulevard

State Police report a man suffered serious injuries, and the driver minor injuries, when their car crashed around 12:20 a.m. on Saturday in the turnaround in front of the Boston Globe plant on Morrissey Boulevard.

The passenger, a 27-year-old man, was not wearing his seat belt, State Police say. The driver, a 25-year-old woman from Dorchester, however, was wearing hers.

In a statement, State Police said: "Preliminary investigation suggests the Camaro was traveling northbound on Morrissey when the operator turned left suddenly, could not stay on the road, exited the road and struck a tree. Preliminary examination of the vehicle revealed no evidence of drugs or alcohol in the car; likewise a review of the operator’s phone revealed no evidence of use immediately prior to the crash. However, the investigation is ongoing and no potential contributing factors are definitively ruled out at this time."
