A Boston Street building that includes a longtime Dorchester restaurant is up for sale—and so is the popular eatery comes with it.
224 Boston Street, a restaurant Yelp reviewers have called a “hidden gem” with an “intimate nature,” was put on the market on Monday, according to a listing from Coldwell Banker real estate. The asking price is $2,500,000 and includes the business, a fully transferable 1 a.m. liquor license, and two residential apartments.
Last month, the 70-seat restaurant was seeking a new, full-time chef, according to a listing on BostonChefs.com.
The blog Boston Restaurant Talk published a post about the restaurant’s sale on Tuesday after a member of the Friend’s of Boston’s Hidden Restaurants Facebook group pointed out the Coldwell Banker listing. The post references Zagat, which called 224 Boston Street a “neighborhood game changer” when it opened in the 1980s and awarded it the No. 4 restaurant in Massachusetts in 2014.
