Dot barbershops to support Veteran’s Day cut-a-thon

Aidan’s Barbershop and City Legends Barbershop will join nine other local barbershops, salons and businesses in and around Boston to give thanks to veterans and their families by raising funds with style for the second annual Veteran’s Day Cut-A-Thon.

The Cut-A-Thon was founded in 2015 by Milton residents and Military parents, Mackie Colligan and Ken and Sharon Praiser, who will host the fundraiser again this year. In 2015, the fundraiser raised over $10,000 to benefit Boston Homes for the Brave, Boston’s program to eliminate homelessness among veterans.

The funds raised on Sat., November 12 at Mackie’s Barbershop in Milton will benefit and raise awareness for Home Base, a partnership of the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital, with a mission dedicated to healing the invisible wounds for post-9/11 veterans, service members and their families through world-class clinical care, wellness, education and research. For more information on this initiative, please visit www.homebase.org.

The founders are still looking for local barbershops, salons and businesses to participate in this year’s fundraising event. For further information on how to participate in the Cut-A-Thon or to donate to the event, please email veteransdaycutathon@gmail.com.
